Executive Diploma in Business Administration (EDBA)


The Executive Diploma In Business Administration (EDBA) programme is an executive programme that specially designed for people who are currently working and interested in furthering their education in the field of Business Administration. Its goal is to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of the K-Economy and business world.

With the demand for an executive programme with an Islamic orientation is expected to increase, EDBA programme will be conducted with an Islamic worldview and hence an Islamic perspective to business administration will be stressed in every course. From the employer point of view, the EDBA programme is exclusively catered for any organizations that wish to educate its employee in enhancing their career development. This is another positive way of appreciating the commitment, loyalty and devotion that the employees have delivered for the success of the organization.

This one year programme will be conducted on part-time basis in the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Gombak campus.


The programme objectives are:

  • To help individuals develop their knowledge and skills to become global managers and outstanding business leaders.
  • To prepare individuals for a career in business management by delivering modern management skills and tools.
  • To educate and empower individuals and organisations to meet business challenges.
  • To build up individual’s personal confidence in the ability to communicate clearly in speech, writing and other appropriate modes of expression.


The entry requirements are as follows:

EITHER STPM or GCE ‘A’ Level, with at least three principal passes obtained in one sitting + two years working experience OR University/College Matriculation Certificate/Diploma recognized by IIUM OR SPM, ‘O’ Level, or similarly recognized qualifications, with three credits including English and Mathematics*; and three years of relevant working experience.

 * Those without credits in English and Mathematics are required to enroll for a 12-week preparatory course.
